Chatterpillar winners visit The Emirates Stadium

'Gunnarsauras' welcomes Archway Children Centre

'Gunnarsauras' welcomes Archway Children CentreThe winners of a Children’s Centre competition were invited on a tour of Arsenal Football Club’s Emirates Stadium on Thursday 27 October.

The competition which required children to create a ‘Chatterpillar’, was part of the year long ‘Hello!’ campaign which highlights the importance of developing children’s communication skills in homes and nurseries across the country.

Open to all Children’s Centre’s in Islington, the aim of the ‘Chatterpillar’ competition was to promote the three key aspects of learning to talk: joining in together, playing and having fun. The ‘Chatterpillars’ were made in all shapes and sizes with some excellent entries.

However, the fun didn’t stop there for those from Archway Children’s Centre, as the Chatterpillar deemed to be the best of all the entries was created at one of the centre’s ‘Stay and Play’ groups.

The winning entry was judged by Communication Champion Jean Gross, and the successful child’s excellent creation resulted in an invitation for the group to join ‘Gunnersaurus’ the official Arsenal mascot for a tour of the Emirates Stadium.

This exclusive opportunity included a pitch-side walk and a special Emirates Stadium story time in the players changing room. The lucky group and their parents also had an exclusive photo opportunity in the Directors box, and received a special Junior Gunners pack each.
