Golfing with Asteral
On Friday 7 September Asteral, the managed equipment service providers for the Whittington’s Imaging department, arranged a golf day at Henley Golf Course. The event, which was over 18 holes and rewarded participants with prizes and lunch, used the opportunity to aid the Whittington’s Building for Babies appeal. The Asteral golfing event adapted its system of awarding prize money to golfers, to instead make a donation for the refurbishment for our neonatal intensive care unit.Ersen Ahmet, clinical technologist, Dean Jansen, service manager for mortuary, and Voishim Wong, consultant in gastroenterology, all attended the day where consultant radiologist Caroline Allum gave a speech. A good day out for all, Dean received the third place trophy and Ersen got a trophy for the longest drive. The overall winner of the day was awarded a Driver worth £200, which was donated to the Building for Babies appeal. The Driver will be raffled at next years golfing tournament on September 18 2008. The day saw a donation of £1,000 going to Building for Babies.
