Sixty years of learning at The Whittington

On Thursday 18 November The Whittington hospital celebrated the launch of a new book, ‘Whittington’s Treasure, a Celebration of Children’s Education at The Whittington Hospital 1950-2010’. The book tells the story of children’s education at Whittington Hospital Class, while they are ill and recovering in the hospital and community.

We were delighted to have the mayor of London, Dick Whittington, cut the ribbon to unveil the book and the choir from St Joseph’s school performed songs such as Burt Bacharach’s ‘What the World Need Now is Love’. Rosemarie Hilditch, head of the centre gave a speech of thanks to everyone involved in bringing the book to fruition.

We would like to thank The Whittington Hospital Class for helping to enrich children’s stays here. The book is available for a donation of five pounds by emailing Rosemarie at rosemarie.hilditch@newrivercollege.islington.sch.uk
