Whittington Health appoints new executive directorWhittington Health is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Freedman as a non-executive director (NED) of the Whittington Health board.

Peter has been appointed to the Board for a four year term, effective from 23 May 2011 until 22 May 2015, and will be remunerated £6,096 per annum. His appointment has been made in accordance with the OCPA Code of Practice. Peter has over 25 years experience working with the world’s leading companies in the consumer goods, retail and healthcare industries, on a wide range of strategy, organisation and operational issues. He led McKinsey’s Europe, Middle East and Africa consumer goods practice for over 10 years. He lives in Hampstead.

Peter said, ‘I am delighted to be joining Whittington Health at such an exciting time and I look forward to making a contribution to the Trust’s future development’.

All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity (if any declared) to be made public. Peter has declared he does not undertake any political activity or hold any political appointments.

Whittington chairman Joe Liddane says he is extremely pleased with the new appointment. “Peter Freedman will bring extensive experience and knowledge to the Whittington Health board during a time of extensive change for the NHS.”
