Official Opening of Urgent Care Centre
Today, Wednesday 15 June, Whittington Health hosted the official opening of the Urgent Care Centre (UCC), held at the Whittington Hospital. The children of St Joseph’s school donated their artwork to go in the consulting rooms of the urgent care centre, and were in attendance and assisted with the opening.
Dr Greg Battle (executive medical director of Integrated Care and a GP at the UCC), Dr Nathalie Richard, (an emergency consultant and urgent care lead) and Lyndon Johnson, (project manager of the UCC), spoke at the event, and took guests and students on a tour of the Urgent Care Centre in operation.
The Urgent Care Centre is open 8 am to 10 pm, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and is made up of local GP’s and nurses who provide urgent care for people primarily living in Islington and West Haringey, or those visiting the area. It works as part of a fully functioning, 24 hour, emergency department.
