Green Week

Whittington Health is celebrating Climate Week this year by having its own Green Week.

They are arranging a series of events for the local community, patients and staff to encourage individuals take actions that lead to rapid, meaningful and sustained reductions in energy usage, carbon emissions and, improvements in environmental sustainability.

Local green organisations and suppliers will be offered a space to display their wares within the hospital to help educate and inspire patients, staff and the local community. Free stall space will be available in the hospital and local Community sites during the week of 12-16 March.

During the week there will be different events including a bike competition (see rollapaluza.co.uk) and a chance to drive a simulated car to see how green your driving is. Richard Barnes, Deputy Mayor of London and Joe Liddane, Chairman of Whittington Hospital will be opening the event on 12th March at 11 am at the hospital atrium – everyone is invited to join in. Richard Barnes will be giving a 10 min talk on the importance of travel in reducing climate change and prizes will be awarded to St Jospeh’s children for the best ‘Green Week’ poster.  Whittington Health will be also giving a donation to WaterAid.

If you are a local ‘green’ supplier and would like to take part please submit your details to whh-tr.GreenMachine-WhittHealth@nhs.net. We will let you know as soon as possible if there is space.

In your submission please include details on your business, what makes you green and which days (Monday 12 – 16th March) you would like a stall space between. Stall times are between 10 am – 3.30 pm
