Whittington Health positive CQC report

On 3 February 2012 the Care Quality Commission published the Review of Compliance for the services delivered at the hospital. This report confirmed that the services were found to be compliant with all the essential standards of quality and safety. Please click here to view this on the CQC website.

The CQC inspection was carried out over two days in October 2011 and the inspection team visited 18 wards and departments and spoke to approximately 70 patients and relatives, 45 staff members. They also looked at 20 patient records.

The inspection team found that most people spoken to during the two day inspection told them that they had received a good level of care, treatment and support, and some were very proud of their local hospital. People were generally very complimentary about the staff and said that they explained and answered questions about their care and treatment. very few people we spoke to had complaints about the service.

Bronagh Scott Director of Nursing and Patient Experience said: "We welcome and accept in full the CQC report and I am very pleased with its findings. I would like to thank all staff for their concerted efforts over many months to improve the quality of the care we provide . Although there are some areas that we can improve on, our progress this year – and this report – gives us confidence that we are consistently delivering high quality care and improving the experience of our patients and service users. It is my personal ambition and that of the Trust’s Board that we are at our best consistently. I am confident that this review by the CQC will inspire us and all of our staff to work towards achieving that goal".
