Cavell ward exhibition

ContentOn Wednesday 7 March 2012, family, friends and colleagues of Dr Albert Rinsler met on Cavell ward at the Whittington Hospital to reflect upon his life and admire the artwork he created which told the story of Edith Cavell’s life.

A local general practitioner, Dr Rinsler’s association with the community was not to end upon his retirement in 1992, as he turned to his other skills, creative design and photography, to put together marvellous exhibitions for staff and patients to admire in the Whittington Hospital.

Consultant Gurcharan Rai fondly recalled the way in which Dr Rinsler would tend to his patients with such enthusiasm, recalling ‘he was a good physician and a good man.’

Albert Rinsler died in 2010. He is remembered as a passionate man, both of medical history and the artistic ways in which the history could be portrayed, highlighted beautifully in the popular Royal Northern history book, which he both wrote and produced.
