Whittington Health shortlisted for CHKS quality of care award

Whittington Health has been shortlisted for this year’s CHKS quality of care award - part of the CHKS Top Hospitals programme 2012. The award recognises excellence in high quality care to patients which is appropriate to their diagnosis.

The CHKS quality of care award is made on the basis of publicly available datasets and every NHS acute trust is included in the analysis. A number of criteria are used to shortlist trusts and, unlike other awards, they are not judged by a convened panel. Four other organisations have been shortlisted for the award and the winner will be announced in a ceremony on 1 May held in London.

Joe Liddane, chairman of Whittington Health says “Whittington Health has been an integrated care organisation for over a year now. We strive to ensure our patients receive an exceptional quality of care, both in the community and in the hospital. To be shortlisted for this award affirms the dedication, commitment and care all staff at Whittington Health endeavors to provide”.

Jason Harries, managing director, CHKS said: “Patients rely on their local hospital to provide high quality and appropriate treatment when they need it. Our quality of care award highlights those trusts that are achieving exceptional standards in the delivery of high quality patient care.”
