Content

On 26 June 2012 the Rt. Revd. Adrian Newman, Anglican Bishop of Stepney, visited the Whittington Hospital chapel to lead a Holy Communion at lunchtime before embarking on a tour of the hospital site.

The communion took place at lunchtime, and was well attended by both staff and visitors before a selection of snacks and light refreshments were laid on for attendees.

On his first visit to the Whittington Hospital, the Bishop was taken on an extensive tour of the organisation, visiting seven wards and learning more about how the hospital works having become and integrated care organisation.

The visit concluded with a meeting in the hospital’s beautiful new sensory garden, in which the bishop was joined by chief executive Dr Yi Mien Koh, chairman Joe Liddane, director of nursing and patient experience Bronagh Scott, assistant director of nursing and patient experience Jenny Williams and hospital Chaplains Mark Elliot-Smith and Emile Jones.

During this meeting, the Bishop blessed our new garden, and prayed for the good health of the staff, service users and patients that would visit in the future.
