Whittington Health appoints new medical director
The trust board of Whittington Health has appointed Dr Martin Kuper BA BM BCh MRCP FRCA as Whittington Health's new medical director. Martin will succeed Mrs Celia Ingham Clark, who will be leaving the Trust on 30 September to become NHS London's Lead for Medical Revalidation.
Martin is a consultant intensivist and anaesthetist and the divisional cirector for surgery, cancer and diagnostics. Martin graduated in medicine from Oxford and is dually qualified in intensive care and anaesthetics.
Martin will start in his new role on 1 October 2012. He will share the role of Medical Director with Greg Battle, a local GP. Martin will continue to work as an intensivist and be supported by a deputy medical director, who will lead revalidation across the trust.
Prior to becoming divisional director Martin was the Whittington Hospital's director of research and oinnovation for two years. He is also National Clinical Advisor for Enhanced Recovery and leads the London Enhanced Recovery Partnership. Martin lives locally with his family.
