FGM Clinic
Our FGM clinic cares for pregnant and non-pregnant women affected by female genital mutilation (FGM).
FGM constitutes all procedures that involve partial or complete removal of the external organs of the female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs for cultural or non-medical reasons.
Our service offers advice, counselling, antenatal care and assessment, de-infibulation (opening of the scar tissue) for women with type 3 FGM (the most severe type of FGM), post-surgery and postnatal follow-up care.
