Obstetric medicine clinic
The obstetric medicine clinic sees women who are already pregnant or planning to be pregnant in the near future to manage maternal medicine disorders. Common disorders managed in the clinic include hormonal conditions such as thyroid disease, high blood pressure and kidney disease.
Women planning pregnancy receive expert pre-pregnancy counselling to optimise their health before embarking on pregnancy. During pregnancy women remain under the care of their own obstetric consultants and are referred to us for specialist advice. Women are fully involved in any decisions on their care in pregnancy.
Women are referred to our clinic by their GP, obstetrician, midwife or consultant from another specialty. We usually see women referred to our clinic within two to eight weeks as appropriate and within one week for urgent referrals.
The obstetric medicine clinic takes place weekly on Mondays, 9.30am-12.30pm.
