Early Years Development Team (EYDT)

EYT - EYDT - Introduction
The Early Years Development Team (EYDT) provides an integrated approach to the assessment, treatment, management and transition of babies and young children with physical disabilities, neurological disorders or developmental delay. The team focuses on working with children from 0 until school age alongside their families and accepts referrals from those registered with Islington GPs only. We do not accept self referrals.
 
The EYDT provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Dietetic assessment and intervention.

FAQs

What is the criteria for referral to the team and who can refer?
 
Healthcare professionals and SENCOs can refer to the EYDT.
 
We do not accept referrals from parents/carers.
 
How long will my child wait for assessment?
 
Referrals are triaged according to clinical need. We aim to see all referrals accepted to our service within 18 weeks.
 
We aim to assess referrals with swallowing safety concerns would be seen within 3 weeks.
 
For children with enteral feeding tube (Nasogastric tube and gastrostomy), DT will contact within a week of accepting the referral.
