Universal Early Years Therapies

EYT - EYSLT - CCSLT - Introduction
The Universal Early Years Therapies team offers a universal service to parents and practitioners with a focus on early identification and prevention of developmental needs as well as promoting early development in children in terms of their speech, language and communication, play and physical development.
 
We provide early advice for mobility and strength including balance & coordination. For hand function, play & self care please visit out Advice for Parents and Carers page.
 
We offer a variety of packages of care for parents/carers and practitioners to support children under 5 years and their families. These may be visits to Bright Start Stay & Plays and other groups, parent/carer workshops, training and support for early years practitioners in early years settings as well as multiagency teams.

FAQs

Do I need to refer to the Universal EYT?
 
There are no direct referrals to our team. Families can meet with members of the teams in local Family Hubs and Children’s Centres.
 
How do I get advice?
 
Families can meet with a Bright Start Speech & Language therapist for advice and ideas to support children’s communication.

Parents/ Carers can meet a physiotherapist at our Little Feet Physio drop in sessions for screening and advice.
