Pain medicine is primarily sourced from your GP, it is likely before you attend the MSK service you have already tried some simple over the counter medication (e.g. paracetamol, ibuprofen), or you GP may have reviewed this a suggest other types of medication (e.g. co-codamol). Pain medication is helpful in many ways but generally used as an adjunct to your overall management.
