COPD win Hospital Doctor of the Year award

Dr Louise Restrick and the Whittington COPD team triumphed at the presitgious Hospital Doctor of the Year awards on 23 November 2006.

Judge Professor Michael Roberts said: “Strong consultant leadership has forged partnerships with the ambulance service, palliative care and psychology teams that are at the forefront of COPD service development. Innovation is underpinned by high quality service evaluation that has proven the effectiveness of their efforts in reducing bed days, admissions and in improving patient survival and quality of life.”

There are fifteen categories in the awards covering major clinical areas such as heart disease and cancer, as well as more general categories such as training and innovation. The annual awards, were presented last night at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London by Eamonn Holmes.
