Health minister and 'children's czar' visit the Whittington

Dr Shribman and Ivan Lewis meet patientsOn Monday 5 February health minister Ivan Lewis MP and Dr Sheila Shribman, the department of health’s national clinical director for children, young people and maternity services visited the Whittington’s women’s and children’s health departments to see examples of good practice ahead of the release of Dr Shribman’s report about national changes to the provision of healthcare for women and children.

                       

Dr Shribman and the minister met staff from across all areas of the department, midwives, doctors and managers and met some of the adults and children being cared for at the hospital.

 

The minister commented on the “fantastic quality of care” offered to by the Whittington to it’s patients in the department and Dr Shribman said she felt that the children’s ward is “a very happy unit” in which to be treated.
