Visit by Chief Executive of Foundation for Integrated Health

Visit by Chief Executive of Foundation for Integrated HealthOn Monday 16 April the Whittington received a visit from Kim Lavely, the Chief Executive of the Foundation for Integrated Health, and her colleague Suzette de Coteau-Atuah who is the manager of the Integrated Health Associates scheme. The Foundation is now in it's fourteenth year and is dedicated to helping people, practitioners and communities create an integrated approach to health and wellbeing.

Integrated Health is about engaging in open debate and bringing together health professionals, regulators, policy makers and the public to create a health service in which the best of all healthcare is the norm. A part of the organisation's remit is supporting the integration of conventional medical healthcare and complementary therapies.

Kim and Suzette visited areas where this actually happens very successfully at the Whittington, such as the maternity acupuncture service, the integrated medical gynaecology clinic and the pain clinic. After a photo call in the newly opened hospital outdoor area, herbal teas and homemade cakes were served in the N19 meeting room where local health care professional interested in integrated medicine were invited to further discuss ways in which integrated services could be improved for the benefit of those using our services.
