National Pathology Week: 3-9 November 2008
The first National Pathology Week takes place this year from 3-9 November. This aim of this nationwide event is to raise awareness of pathology amongst health care professionals, the general public and school students. It is a great opportunity to promote the work that pathologists and allied laboratory professionals, such as clinical and biomedical scientists undertake in the laboratory.more

Official opening and Annual Public Meeting
Wednesday 1 October saw the official opening of the new building. Rather than opting for a celebrity opening, the hospital of choice for local people was opened by the local people, who turned up to the main entrance as the Council of Governors each snipped at the blue ribbon. more
Awarding our staff
The sixth annual Whittington Achievement Awards were held on Wednesday 1 October to acknowledge staff who have made an outstanding contribution to the hospital.more
Highgate Fun Run 2008
Building for Babies appeal ended on a high with The Highgate Fun Run, which was a great success despite the dreadful weather.more
Healthcare Commission annual health check
The Whittington Hospital achieved scores of ‘good’ for quality of services and the use of resources, in the Healthcare Commission’s annual performance ratings for 2007/2008, published on Thursday 16 October.more
Diwali celebrated at the Whittington
Diwali was celebrated in the main entrance on Thursday 30 October. Visitors and staff gathered to enjoy the festivities, which included dancing, singing and music.more
YPT on TV!
The Young Parents Team (YPT) has been on Channel 4 twice this month! YPT midwives Keely Franklin and Lorna Waite were asked to take part in the popular 'The Sex Education Show’, which aired at the beginning of October. The YPT's second appearance was on 'Embarrassing Teenage Bodies' which aired on Thursday 30 October.more
