Official opening and Annual Public Meeting
Wednesday 1 October saw the official opening of the new building. Rather than opting for a celebrity opening, the hospital of choice for local people was opened by the local people, who turned up to the main entrance as the Council of Governors each snipped at the blue ribbon.
Tea, talk and tours soon followed, as members of the public were guided around the Day Treatment Centre, Imaging department and NICU.
The night attended with the Annual Public Meeting, where chairman Joe Liddane, director of finance Richard Martin and Foundation Trust Governor Ron Jacob gave talks and answered questions from the public. The Annual Public Meeting ended on a high with the presentation of the Staff Achievement Awards.
