Healthcare Commission annual health check

Healthcare Commission annual health check
The Whittington Hospital achieved scores of ‘good’ for quality of services and the use of resources, in the Healthcare Commission’s annual performance ratings for 2007/2008, published on Thursday 16 October.

The Healthcare Commission’s annual health check, scores NHS trusts on their performance, looking at varying elements of their practice and management and giving them a final two scores. Organisations may receive excellent, good, fair or weak scores for the quality of their services as well as how finances are managed.

The detailed results showed that ‘quality of services’ covered the trust’s compliance with core standards, meeting existing national targets and meeting new national targets. These were good or fully met by the Whittington. The ‘use of resources’ showed that the Whittington achieved all financial targets in 2007/2008 and our financial reporting, financial management, financial standing, internal control and value for money are assessed as good.

These are strong results for the Whittington Hospital and recognition of the hard work that has gone into maintaining a high level of care and support for our local people.
