Andrew Heaton retired from the Whittington in March having been a consultant in the emergency department for over 26 years.  

Andrew says he has been through two redesigns of the department, three names – casualty, accident and emergency and now emergency department,  not forgetting  the eight chief executives.

 “I have loved my time at the Whittington it has been most interesting and I have enjoyed working with many different people - I think targets have been a good thing for the department”.

 Andrew is going to continue to teach and will keep a close eye on the Whittington which he says is in ‘good hands’.
