Whittington ranks highly in user experience
The Whittington has been rated in the top 30 performing NHS trusts for user experience, out of 81 trusts in the country. The Department of Health’s Quarter 1 report which provides a summary of the NHS financial position and performance against national priorities for the quarter April – June 2009 was published earlier this week.
The NHS performance indicators include finance, standards and targets, user experience and quality and safety. The Whittington is listed as performing in all areas apart from finance.
The trust is shown as ‘performance under review’ in finance as it did not reach its financial targets for the first quarter. This is because we had a £1.4 million deficit, which has now reduced considerably, at the end of month 5 the hospital had a deficit of £716,000.
Chief executive Rob Larkman says that he is delighted that the hospital is amongst the top performing trusts for user experience. “The Whittington always puts the patient at the centre of all we do, and the finances are moving in the right direction”.
