Coffee for thalassaemia unit

presenting the donation
Patient Franco Martorana died in August this year and his friends and family raised £2479 for the Whittington Hospital's Thalassaemia Unit to install a coffee machine and snacks area so that patients, who often have to stay in on the unit over an entire day for blood transfusions, can have easy access to free hot drinks and can warm up snacks in the microwave.

His wife, Calogera Martorana (pictured with her two children) said: 'Franco loved good coffee and it is fitting that in his memory we are donating a coffee machine for people who shared his condition.'
