Nurses' day - 12 May 2010

Nurses day, 12 May
Wednesday 12 May 2010 is nurses day. It is a celebration of nurses and their colleagues who dedicate their lives to helping others and striving to make a real difference to the well being of those that they care for.

It also commemorates the birthday of Florence Nightingale who was born on that day in 1820, this year also sees the centenary of her death on 13 August.

This year the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) will host a stand in the Atrium between 12 and 2pm.  Educational material will be available.  Mr Bernell Busue, London region RCN director will be visiting and happy to answer any questions or enquiries anyone may have.

With the largest proportion of staff employed at The Whittington being nurses and midwives, the Whittington is proud of our nurses and delighted to celebrate their work.
