Have you ever wondered how new treatments are discovered? Or how we improve care for future generations?
Medical research helps to shape the future of healthcare.
Information collected from research studies mean that healthcare professionals can find better ways to prevent illness, diagnose conditions earlier, and treat patients more effectively.
Studies need to collect necessary data to answer questions in order to spearhead a medical breakthrough, and this is where we need your help!
Why take part in NHS research?
Every year, thousands of people across the UK help the NHS by taking part in research studies.
This could be:
- Completing a simple survey.
- Donating a sample, for example blood.
- Testing a new treatment or way of delivering care.
- Sharing your health experiences and feedback.
All research delivered by the NHS is reviewed by independent experts and approved by ethics committees to make sure it’s safe, fair, and respects your rights.
When you sign up to a study, you’ll always be given full information about what’s involved and you can choose whether or not to take part.
