Our response to emails regarding the Federated Data Platform

We have received a number of similar emails regarding the Federated Data Platform, we are happy to respond to these concerns here.

 

Firstly, thanks to all those people who have contacted us to raise concerns.

 

We are happy to confirm that the Federated Data Platform is not currently in use at Whittington Health and we have not yet made any plans to implement it.

 

We are aware of concerns about the involvement of some of the platform’s partners and will be mindful of them as well as the potential benefits that the system could bring for our patients as we continue consider the issue.

 

However, we have committed that should our position change, the system would only be implemented following appropriate engagement with our community, staff and patients.

 

We also know that our colleagues in NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care are already aware of the concerns raised in these emails.
