Royal College of Nursing Congress 2009 in HarrogateJo Carroll, lead nurse for safeguarding children and Noel O'Connor, emergency department charge nurse attended the Royal College of Nursing Congress between 10 - 14 May 2009 in Harrogate as voting members representing the Children and Young Peoples Forum.
The debates were lively and distinguished guest speakers for Congress included Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Conservative Party Leader David Cameron, this was the first time that a Prime Minster had addressed the RCN at a Congress in person. Sir Michael Parkinson, Government's Dignity Ambassador also spoke about his personal experiences caring for his mother.
