Tynemouth Road Development

Whittington Health wants to provide high quality, modern and appropriate environments that support our vision to help local people live longer and healthier lives. In 2022, we moved several of our children and young people’s services to Tynemouth Road Health Centre, to form the Children and Young People’s health hub for the borough of Haringey.

What services are moving?

After listening to patients, service users, parents, carers and Haringey residents, we know that people want to be seen in modern, clean facilities, that are easy to access on public transport. We have made a significant investment at Tynemouth Road Health Centre, making it the Children and Young People’s health hub in Haringey. This included clinic spaces designed for children and young people, improved facilities for local families, including a Changing Places facility, and refurbished office spaces for staff.

 

Considerable investment has been made to develop Tynemouth Road Health Centre into a children’s health hub which will be a vibrant and welcoming place providing improved accommodation and a better experience for children, young people and their families. The refurbished site includes clinic spaces designed for children and young people, improved facilities for local families and redesigned office spaces that support multidisciplinary working among health staff.

Tynemouth Road Health Centre is well served by public transport including by bus, underground and two overground stations. Car parking is limited but there are some disabled bays for blue badge holders, a limited number of free visitor bays and some pay and display street parking. There are no changes to the Tynemouth Road Medical Practice which will continue to based at the centre.
