Patient Safety Partners

Welcome to the web page for our Patient Safety Partners (PSP) at Whittington Health NHS Trust.

The Patient Safety Partner (PSP) role is a new and evolving role developed by NHS England as part of the National Patient Safety Strategy to help NHS organisations improve patient safety across the country.

Whittington Health is looking for two PSPs who would like to work with us. The PSP would need to contribute up to eight hours a month to work alongside our staff, patients, families, and carers to help us put the patient voice at the centre of our approach to safer healthcare at all levels of the organisation.

We welcome applications from people who have close links with Whittington Health, perhaps as a patient or as the relative or carer of a Whittington patient. We would also like to hear from people who have been affected by a safety event within the NHS.

This is a great opportunity to share your interest and, experiences in the NHS, whilst using your skills to be a part of the team here at Whittington Health.

Some examples of what you might be involved with include:

  • Speaking with patients and staff about safety and what matters to them.
  • Supporting and developing the patient safety culture in the Trust.
  • Being part of working groups and quality improvement projects.
  • Helping us design and develop patient safety and public involvement initiatives.
