Full story
Chief Executive Officer Siobhan Harrington will be leaving Whittington Health NHS Trust next year to take up a new role as Chief Executive at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.
Siobhan has worked at Whittington Health for over 12 years and the last four and half years were spent as the Chief Executive. In this time, the trust has been rated as Good by the CQC, with its community services rated as Outstanding.
Siobhan said: “Whittington Health is a special place and I’ve been privileged to work with so many wonderful people and with such an interesting mix of hospital and community care that truly does help local people live longer, healthier lives. I am so proud of how everyone came together to meet the challenge of the pandemic and of the commitment that they have put into ensuring patients whose treatment was disrupted get the care they need as soon as possible.
“Every single person I have worked with and spoken to at Whittington Health has had an impact on me which has made me who I am today. I would like to thank them for everything they do to make Whittington Health what it is for the people and patients we serve as well as for each other. While I may be leaving Whittington Health, I can say with complete certainty that Whittington Health will not be leaving me.”
Baroness Julia Neuberger, Chair of Whittington Health NHS Trust, commented: “Siobhan has been not only a wonderful leader of Whittington Health, but also a fantastic advocate for all of the people who work here. I am grateful that she will continue in her role during this winter period, supporting the staff and the organisation that she cares so much about. I would like to thank her for her dedication and service and wish her well for the future.”
The process to recruit a new Chief Executive will begin in the new year.
