On Sunday 2 October, nine Whittington Health NHS Trust supporters are running the TCS London Marathon in aid of Whittington Health Charity.
Whittington Health Charity is the dedicated charity for Whittington Health NHS Trust. The Charity helps to fund new facilities, staff wellbeing initiatives, and improvements to patient experience – going above and beyond what the NHS can provide.

Most recently, the Charity has supported the Trust’s multi-million-pound development of the maternity and neonatal estate, which aims to improve the existing facilities so they match the very high levels of care that our maternity team provide to women and families.
Many of the runners have a personal connection to our Trust – runners like Varda Lassman who is theTrust’s Associate Director of Nursing, and Mojisola whose sister was born premature and spend a substantial amount of time at Whittington Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
“During her time at the hospital, my sister received excellent care, was treated with best equipment, and by staff who were both professional and compassionate,” says Mojisola.

“I am convinced the quality care my sibling received is because of the work done by the Whittington Health Charity.”
Some of our runners have elected to dedicate their fundraising totals towards specific areas of Whittington Health NHS Trust.
Debs Eicher has raised an incredible £1,700 so far for the Michael Palin Centre – a service that provides support for young people who stammer and help them manage depression, social anxiety, feelings of shame, and withdrawal.
The runners take on 26.2 miles on a course that charts some of London’s most magnificent landmarks and stunning scenery. If you would like to get involved and fundraise for Whittington Health Charity, please visit their website here.
