Tina Jegede has received her Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) medal in recognition of her services to Social Care.
Tina, who is the Nurse Lead for Care Homes and Joint Director of Race, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at Whittington Health NHS Trust, accepted the award at Windsor Castle.
The MBE is awarded for achievement or service to the community which has a long-term impact. Tina was nominated for the award by Social Care Chief Nurse for England, Deborah Study, and was one of eighty people on the day presented with the prestigious award by King Charles.
Tina said, "It was an honour to have received the award from King Charles and be recognised in this way."
"During the event, I paused and thought proudly of the Islington care home staff, Whittington multi disciplinary team care home colleagues, and colleagues at Islington Council.
"I consider the award as being 'on everyone's behalf'. No one achieves anything on their own!"
