Highlights from our annual Awards

Full story

The 2024 Whittington Health Staff Awards were held at the Royal College of Physicians on the evening of 4 July.
This year, the 28 judges across five panels had an incredibly difficult task narrowing down an incredible 408 nominations, but they were able to select winners in each of the categories.

It was a truly memorable night, with Michael Rosen sharing the story of how we saved his life, with deep gratitude and laugh out loud humour, bringing life and energy to the awards themselves.

The image used for this story captures the spirit of the evening – Arul Bangalore won an individual award, and his colleagues spontaneously came forward to celebrate with him.

Our Chair, Baroness Julia Neuberger, selected two recipients for her award. The first, Jane Vallance, is Camden Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service Manager, who has ‘continued to go above and beyond’ through a challenging period. She was described as ‘beloved by everyone who meets her’, ‘compassionate, dedicated, intelligent, organised and aiming for excellence in everything she does.’

The second winner of the Chair's Award, Alicia St Louis, said it was the first award she'd ever been shortlisted for, after over 20 years' service. She led on a transformative programme for maternity triage, their service's equivalent of A&E.
