Patient drop-offs are moving to our Highgate Hill entrance

Watercolour of ambulances at the front of the hospital

27 Nov 2025

Our patient transport ambulances are moving to the front of the hospital, to improve our urgent and emergency care.

Full story

Patient drop-offs are moving to our Highgate Hill entrance, as our patient transport ambulances are moving to the front of the hospital.

We will soon be starting work to move our hospital’s patient transport ambulances down to the area in front of the atrium on Magdala Avenue.

This is part of our wider project to create more space around urgent and emergency care, to improve the services we can provide at our hospital.

This means that from Monday 1 December, patients will no longer be able to be dropped off in the layby on Magdala Avenue at the front of the hospital.

If you are being dropped off in a car (including taxis), you will need use our Highgate Hill entrance, which is further up the hill.

You can still come to the front entrance on foot, or by the usual busses.
