Full story
There has been a significant increase in flu and other respiratory infections across the country.
We are taking measures to protect our patients, their families, and our doctors and nurses.
You must wear a mask when visiting our Emergency Department, some of our wards, and other clinical areas where the risk is high.
Disposable masks are available at the entrance to our emergency department and main reception at the main entrance to our hospital, or you can purchase them at most pharmacies, in advance of a visit.
If you have flu symptoms, please avoid visiting the hospital.
If you have a cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose, or shortness of breath, please do not attend the hospital unless you require urgent care.
Please ask yourself, ‘Do I need to visit?’
Visiting should be limited where possible, especially on wards with vulnerable patients.
Vulnerable people (like very young children and people who are immunocompromised) should avoid visiting unless absolutely necessary.
If you do need to visit, please only do so if you are well, and always follow our mask and hand hygiene requirements.
These measures are temporary. We will review them regularly and update this page when things change.
