Celebrate Rosh Hashanah by listening to a Shofar (ram’s horn)

Full story
Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. The festival begins at sundown on the eve of Friday 11 September and ends after nightfall on Sunday 13 September.
Rosh Hashanah feasts traditionally include round challah bread (studded with raisins) and apples dipped in honey, as well as other foods that symbolise wishes for a sweet year.
One of the rituals is to listen to a series of sounds from a ram's horn, called a Shofar. We are delighted to offer to all our patients, service users and staff the opportunity to hear the Shofar at 4:30pm on Sunday 13 September, in the atrium of Whittington Hospital.
We would like to wish everyone who celebrates, Shana Tova – Happy New Year!
Here at Whittington Health we are proud to serve a community of over 500,000 people across North London. Our patients, service users and staff come from a wide variety of backgrounds, life experiences, religions and cultures. We are honoured to celebrate festivals and days of significance that are important to our communities.
