Biography

Dr Ziyad graduated in 1994 with honours in Anatomy in 1997 with a distinction in both medicine and paediatrics. I undertook general medical training in Southend Hospital obtaining the MRCP exam. Following this i underwent specialist anaesthesia training in the North Central London School of Anaesthesia (UCL - University College of London and RF - Royal Free) completing it in 2006. After completing my specialist training I worked as a locum consultant in anaesthesia at the Royal Free hospital in London.

In 2007, I was appointed Consultant in Anaesthesia at the Whittington Trust. I have experience in anaesthesia and preoperative medicine for all surgical specialites for Adults and Paediatrics and a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, preoperative care of the Bariatric Patient (Obesity Surgery) and in the perioperative optimisation of the high risk surgical patient. Also have a keen interest in Regional Anaesthesia, sedation and Obstetric Anaesthesia.  I am also involved in both the undergraduate teaching of medical students from UCL - University College of London and RF - Royal Free Medical School and  in postgraduate specialist anaesthesia teaching at the Whittington Hospital.
