Dr Julian Waung

Dr. Waung's undergraduate training was at Southampton University and specialist clinical training was in North Central London. He investigated the role of thyroid hormone on the skeleton with a focus on osteoarthritis and osteoporosis at Imperial College in the molecular endocrinology group.

 

Dr. Waung joined Whittington in 2019 as a consultant in Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medicine. He runs general and specialist diabetes clinics including adolescent clinic, joint urology / men's health clinics, foot clinic, insulin pump clinics.

 

He works closely with the Thalassaemia unit and runs a specialist Thalassaemia endocrinology clinic that addresses hypogonadism, male infertility, hypothyroidism, calcium disorder and has a particular focus on bone disease.

 

He has a keen interest in technology and digital transformation.

 

He is part of the Whittington Outpatient Transformation team.

 

Dr Waung is passionate about medical education and is the undergraduate teaching lead for endocrinology and diabetes.
