Preparation for the Tests

NCS/EMG studies require loose clothing which can be pulled up easily to the elbows and knees and clean, non-greasy skin. Do not use any creams on the day of your test, as these are electrical insulators and may prevent us from picking up the nerve signals and doing the test.

EEG and EP studies require a loose fitting top and clean hair. Please avoid any hair products on the day of the study, as these are also electrical insulators and may prevent us from picking up the nerve signals and doing the test.

 

You can take any medicines and eat and drink as normal. For children it is a good idea to bring along a favourite toy and a drink.
