Antenatal (Murray) Ward

Midwife walking in Murray ward corridor
Murray Ward is our antenatal ward which cares for women and birthing people during pregnancy and before birth. You may be admitted to Murray Ward if you have complications in pregnancy, or for induction of labour.
The ward is staffed by a team of core midwives, health care assistants and clerical staff, with further assistance given by student midwives. The obstetric team do a ward round in the morning and can be called at any time of the day if a woman or birthing person requires medical attention or review.

Visiting Hours

Birthing partners can visit at any time, including overnight. Visiting times are 3pm - 6pm every day for visitors other than partners and companions. We can only accept a maximum of 2 visitors at any time, including partners.

Please note that only the children of women staying on the ward can visit during visiting hours.
For the safety of all those on the ward, please do not open doors for other visitors during your stay – we are available to do this.

Partners who are staying overnight are requested not to leave the ward between 10pm and 6am.
