Where is my child on the spectrum?

What is Autism - where is my child on the spectrum - intro
‘Autism’ is a profile of developmental differences. Autism looks different in every child and each autistic person has their own strengths, difficulties, and differences. This is why it is commonly referred to as the autistic spectrum.

However, all autistic people have differences in two main areas which we look for when assessing and diagnosing autism.

In your child’s report, we describe their individual pattern of differences, difficulties and strengths. This is to help families and nursery or school staff to best understand the child and meet their needs.

This video explains how autism can vary from person to person in more detail. It also covers a frequently asked question, “where is my child on the spectrum?” You can access a transcript of the video below here.
