Full story

People across London are being invited to an event to showcase the breadth of nursing careers available at Whittington Health NHS Trust. The event will include the chance to tour some of the trust’s facilities, including one of its operating theatres, as well as the opportunity to meet with current Whittington Health nurses from a range of backgrounds and performing a number of roles.

The ‘Nursing Showcase’ event will be an opportunity for existing registered nurses or nurse associates, student nurses, those who currently work in a healthcare setting or those who are considering it to find out if a role at Whittington Health NHS trust is for them. It will take place at the Trust’s Education Centre based on the site of Whittington Hospital in Archway, North London between 5.00pm and 8pm on Tuesday 12 November.

Whittington Health NHS Trust is unique in London as it is an ‘Integrated Care Organisation’, providing people living across Islington, Haringey and beyond with hospital services and community-based services, such as health visiting and district nursing. This means it can also help its staff to build varied and interesting career paths which allow them to build their skills and experience in a range of roles and settings.

Nursing staff and Allied Health Professionals from across Whittington Health’s range of services and in a variety of roles will be available to talk to those attending about their role and experience being part of Whittington Health. Ward-based Nurses, Professional Development Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists and others can help those attending to find the right role for them within Whittington Health and provide details of how to apply.

Speaking about the event, Michelle Johnson, Chief Nurse and Director of Allied Health Professionals, said: “Whether someone is an existing nurse who is looking for a new challenge, to move to the next rung of the career ladder or someone who hasn’t yet started on their nursing career journey, we want everyone to come and meet us.

“Whittington Health is a very special place to be a nurse. We provide a huge range of varied nursing and healthcare roles across our acute and community services but we are small enough to be a really personal and caring organisation – I think that is why so many people stay working here for so long!”

Anyone who wants to attend the event should come along to the Whittington Health Education Centre, on the Whittington hospital site, between 5.00pm -8.00pm on Tuesday 12 November. There is no need to book, just come along on the evening.
