Dr Myra Stern
Biography
South African born - undergraduate training at the University of Cape Town. Postgraduate training in UK including a PhD at the Hammersmith Hospital. Previously, Senior Lecturer/Honorary Consultant at the National Heart and Lung Institute/ Royal Brompton Hospital with a special interest in cystic fibrosis and the development of novel therapies (gene therapy in particular). Joined the Whittington in 2003.
Special Interests
Two general respiratory outpatients clinics/week, seeing a range of respiratory illnesses including COPD, asthma, pneumonia, lung cancer, TB, bronchiectasis, and fibrosis. Departmental lead for bronchiectasis, lung function, GP liaison and smoking cessation/smoke-free hospital.

MBChB University of Cape Town 1985, PhD University of Cape Town 1992, MRCP 1992, CCST Respiratory Medicine 1999, FRCP 2005.
