District Nursing
Working in the community, you will help us deliver care to people in their own homes. That care may involve help with recovery from illness or surgery, management of long-term conditions, provision of equipment and advice to promote independence, pressure ulcer prevention and care, end-of-life care, continence assessments and catheter care, referrals to specialist services, wound care, nutritional advice, IV and controlled drug administration, ear irrigation and blood tests.
We work closely with our health and social care colleagues to deliver care in the right place at the right time to help avoid hospital admission. As a community nurse working in the District Nurse Service, you will have access to funded travel to patients, flexible working and electronic working to ensure seamless communication between you and your team.
There is a Band 6 career development pathway and access to advanced clinical skills training and leadership development, including becoming a specialist district nurse and/or independent nurse prescriber.
