Ways to get involved in research

  • There may be posters around Whittington Health sites which highlight studies being conducted in clinical areas. Please ask a member of staff in the clinical team or contact the research delivery team on via: whh-tr.researchsupport@nhs.net
  • During your visit to a Trust site, you can ask your clinician if there is any research occurring in that clinical area that you could get involved with.
  • If you are visiting the hospital or a care site in the community, you may be approached to take part in research or asked if you are interested in doing so.
  • There may be opportunities for you to get involved with planning research and working alongside researchers as part of PPIE (patient and public involvement and engagement), opportunities are usually disseminated by the specialty developing the research.

Being involved in research is your decision, you can choose to not take part or withdraw at any stage of the research process without it affecting your care

If you are interested in being involved in research and are a patient in the local community, please contact us regarding your interest and we may be able to inform you if there are any studies you can take part in or PPIE opportunities.

On behalf of the Research Department, researchers and clinicians that make research possible in the Trust a huge thank you is extended to all the participants that have contributed to clinical research and those who have provided their time to discuss being involved
