Whittington Health Community Dental Services Oral Health Promotion team provide a number of initiatives in Haringey to support the local population improve their oral health.

Oral Health Promotion Team is made by Maggie and Dania

0 - 5 years old

The Oral Health Promotion team provide oral health advice and support to parents and staff at Stay and Play in children centre's / nurseries, and they are available for classroom activities and parents coffee mornings in nurseries

Training is provided for health professionals and other professionals
'Brushing for life' Packs (tooth brush and tooth paste) are delivered to families
The Henry programme is also offered to parents

School programmes

Oral Health classroom activities are provided to Children.
School Fluoride Varnish Programme

Fluoride Varnish is a protective coating that is applied to teeth; it strengthens enamel and can help to prevent tooth decay. Two visits to selected schools each academic year to Nursery, Reception and Year 1 classes. (Parental Consent required).

Supervised Tooth-brushing Programme

To support young children to develop their brushing skills at an early age and help them to understand the importance of having healthy mouths for life. It takes place daily as a classroom activity.

Special Needs Schools / Centres

Provide oral health advice for parents, carers and teachers of children with special educational needs. We provide practical tooth-brushing with children.
