Healthy Child Programme

Haringey Health Visiting Service offers the Healthy Child Programme to all families living at a Haringey address. This means we will usually have five points of contact with you and your child. If you have concerns or would like to speak to a Health Visitor at any other time, please get in touch with us by phone or email (see details in ‘Contacts’ page).

See timeline below for what you should expect from us and other health services, until your child goes to primary school - click on each contact to find out more:

Ante Natal Contact

When your pregnancy reaches the 28-36 week stage, the Health Visiting team will contact you, introducing our service and supporting individuals to think about their transition to parenthood. This contact may take the form of a letter or a home visit.

Other Health Services

(shortly after birth, in the hospital)
(day 5, by community midwife)

School Readiness
When your child is between three and four years old, you will receive a letter from us with a checklist of the signs of school readiness. It’s important your child is prepared and ready for the transition to school, this includes toilet training, self-care, independence and social skills. For further information, you can access the link below or contact  your Health Visiting team for any additional support.  Once your child starts reception, they will be transferred from Health Visiting to School Nursing.
