Women’s Diagnostic Unit (WDU) cares for women and birthing people who present with emergencies in early pregnancy. You can access our services via a booked appointment in our early pregnancy clinic or coming into our walk-in service.
 
For those with gynaecology emergencies, you must be directly referred to us through your GP or the Emergency Department (after discussion with the on-call team).
 
If you have an emergency during early pregnancy, please attend either:
 
  • Women’s Diagnostic Unit, Betty Mansell Ward, Level 3, Kenwood Wing
  • Emergency Department, Highgate Hill entrance
 
Our Team
 
The Women’s Diagnostic Unit is managed by our obstetrics and gynaecology consultants and supported by a team of specialist nurses and sonographers. We are often accompanied by junior doctors and nurses undertaking specialist training.
